Cocona fabric is made using natural technology. Activated carbon is derived from discarded coconut shells and other natural micro porous particles. Cocona technology is contained inside the recycled fibre and will not wear out or wash off. Cocona fabric is extremely breathable and accelerates evaporation by pulling moisture across the active micro porous particles embedded in the yarn. By eliminating moisture in your clothing, you stay warmer in the cold and cooler in the heat Cocona fabric absorbs a wide range of odour molecules within the activated carbon. Odour molecules are released and the carbon refreshed with the heat from washing and drying.
Cocona and the environment
The best available technologies are used for dye/finish chemicals to minimise environmental impact. Cocona fabric is made in a Bluesign accredited facility. The fabric is 'super washed' for shrink control and non-chlorine washed - this process is a more water/energy saving process than chlorine washed. Cocona recycled polyester reduces the energy/carbon footprint by 40% compared to standard Polyester. A wider fabric width allows 25% in cutting fficiency/waste reduction. Cocona polyester is proven to reduce energy use by 30% in home dryer. Cocona fabric is an easy to care for and a stable fabric with low shrinkage.
