Maybe this has gone largely unreported because he bailed one pitch below the top, nevertheless this is mind blowing stuff and probably of interest to some.

I bet it did indeed get 'quite windy'. This dude seems like the all time master of understatement. And the ascent (and yes, sure, he didn't quite finish) seems like death on a very sharp stick.

Am blown away that characters with such huge cojones exist. Massive respect.

Glad he got back down OK.

Yeah this guy has previous on Cerro Torre, with solo ascents in the summers 2013 and 15, the latter in a storm.

It seems quit while your'e ahead doesn't apply, with cajones this big, how does he sit down.

Ridiculous. Imagine being exhausted on the top of Cerro Torre, with the elements closing in and you have to descend all those pitches with your gloves on, stay warm and never lose concentration. With nobody to help you if you mess up.
