Last weekend we had our first and very successful Big Climb Event. Which featured slideshows, a climbing enchainment event and some social climbing. The event managed to raise a massive £2500 for Climbers Against Cancer. As such we must first thank everyone who donated money or paid for tickets for the slideshow or the whole event, without you the event would not have been so fun.

We must also thank the guests we had giving slideshows so a massive thank you to:

Mike Twid Turner - http://www.themountainguidingcompany.co.uk
Emma Twyford - http://www.emmatwyford.co.uk
Rhona Lampard

One of the major draws to the event was the prizes that we had some kindly donated from so many companies and businesses. So a massive thank you also goes to:

The Event Was won by a team of local instructors (Mark Reeves and Simon Lake) who climbed 16 routes across the major crags from Pant Ifan to Blwch Y Moch - Tremadog and managed to spell HARMONICA, climbing nearly 1000m over 12 hours. The second overall team was only just behind them and was made up of an all female team (Helena Robinson and Serinde Van Wijk) who mangled 10 routes on all the major crags crags to spell PONCHO BAG. Whilst many other teams enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and ticked a minimum of 4 routes each, which was a major achievement since one team had never climbed at tremadog.

The teams that participated are eager to come again, so we are hoping to turn this into an annual event, similarly if you want to run your own local Big Climb Enchainment Event then we are happy to help you. So watch this space for future challenges.
