Marketing Assistant

Location: Darlington
Permanent : Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £18700 p.a.

Ultralight Outdoor Gear Ltd is a market leader in its chosen niche supplying a comprehensive range of lightweight gear for Backpacking, Trekking, Adventure Racing and Adventure Travel. As a result of continued growth and expansion plans we are currently recruiting a Full-time Marketing Assistant (37.5 hours Monday to Friday) to join our small team based in the North East of England.

The main duties of the post are to work with our current team to ensure all on-line and magazine presentation is up to date and accurate, this will involve, but is not limited to:

Adding new products to the website
Producing magazine adverts
Adding reviews to the website
Updating pricing information
Projects to improve on-line presentation of products and brands
Projects to manage stock on-line, including promotions and monitoring of slow moving and obsolete stock
Setting up promotions and discounts on-line

This new post represents an opportunity to join a small team in an expanding organisation and future prospects are good. The successful applicant will have experience of working in an outdoor retail environment and list backpacking, trekking or adventure racing as one of their interests. A good working knowledge of current technologies used in outdoor equipment and an appreciation of the range of gear available is essential. Finally applicants need to be IT literate, this includes being able to setup and use Excel spreadsheets, Photoshop would be an advantage, but most of all must be able to quickly pick up and learn to use our on-line systems.
