Does anyone know of a good and easy to use GPS-based route editor?

I'm thinking something that shows the route overlaid on to a map, where you can highlight a faulty area and move data points easily.

I find that route trackers on watches, phones, etc. struggle in steep terrain. For example I was skiing a gully a few days ago, and the watch got confused (probably because it couldn't see all the satellites) and suddenly placed me on a highpoint next to the gully, adding 600m to my ascent. It would be nice to be able to manually move that data point back in to the gully so that the route is accurate.

I use Viking for exactly the reason you outline.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/viking/
Available on multiple platforms.
Takes a little getting used to, but is versatile.

For GB, if you load the track into WheresThePath, you should then be able to edit points. WtP will also thin tracks to reduce the number of points; good if your track is a 1 second point interval.
