I have the domain www.climbing.org.uk

I am having a clear out of domains and decided to get rid of this.

incase you are not familiar .org.uk is one of the original top ranking domains. I have some that happily outrank .co.uk of the same domain.

So is this a domain that you bought and used for a purpose. Or something that you had no need or right to use and just hoovered up to force someone with a real use for it handing over wads of cash to you?

The shop in your analogy would be the domain registrar. Somebody buying up a finite resource purely for the purposes of cashing in on it at a price way above its ordinary retail value would be more akin to a ticket tout.

But the OP may well have bought the domain in good faith so perhaps this isn't the best place for that discussion.
