It's almost impossible. I am in Chamonix, and I can't get anyone to go out with me.
Intrigued how did you find your touring partner?
At this point it seems buying avi gear was a waste of money. Might be off loading all my gear at the end of the month.

Probably because the conditions aren't exactly good for touring at the moment in Cham due to the weather and snowpack...

Whenever I've moved to somewhere new in France I've joined the local branch of the French Alpine Club, and often found partners through the Eagle Ski Club. But I've never lived in Chamonix.

I'd hang out in one of the cafés with some cool shades on...something interesting usually materialises...
Oh..and speakin French usually helps
