Evening folks,

Im heading out to the Alps for a couple of weeks at Easter and was hoping to do a multiday hut-to-hut ski tour for the first time. Does anyone have words of wisdom as to any that might be best to cut my teeth on.

I've previously done a few single day ski tours in Scotland and I'm comfortable skiing black runs and off piste terrain.

The Silvretta tour will fit your bill. It was my first ski tour in the Alps, friendly terrain, with some interesting peaks to bag. Great huts too.

I would agree with everything Ken says. I did my first hut to hut tour their last year. It was fantastic. Let me know if you want anymore information. I also bought a copy of the BMC dvd on ski touring which was quite useful and is filmed in the Silvretta.

Here's a blog that I wrote a couple of years ago: http://www.applemountaineering.co.uk/2014/05/11/ski-touring-silvretta-alps-...

Some chap wrote this article a few years ago. He hadn't much ski mountaineering under his belt when he did the tour. Although a different tour to Silvretta, there may be some useful ideas and advice in there for you:
