I went for a short visit to the Chablais Alps between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc last week. I was fortunate to enjoy amazing weather but the trip was all too brief. A superb place to hike and I must explore it some more. Here is the account of the trip. I hope you enjoy.

Nice write up thanks !

Have you considered using a small meths stove ? Meths is readily available in Europe. You can often get it in pharmacies, supermarkets, ironmongers and building supply shops, as well as outdoor shops.

Knowing how to make one out of a discarded drinks can could have been useful. This link shows the design I use

It can - just - be made using a pen knife, but a pair of nail scissors are better.

Thanks, I will definitely consider meths. Anything is better than wasting a precious day on the mountains.
