Well another year is almost at an end, care to share your finest images of the year?

Almost at end? There's about 7 weeks left, and late autumn/early winter always results in some stonking pictures on those mythical clear days.

In reply to The Lemming:

No, not until they update the photo section to allow higher res images.

The current allowance of 1000px was fixed something like 10 years ago. i.e. completely ancient by web development standards and far too small in an age of 4k, Retina and Ultra HD.

We might be able to boost this next year.

Up until the last month or so we were going over our bandwidth allowance each month and being charged quite a lot for the privilege.

Be great if we could have a UKC photo of the year based on votes as per photo of the week. Could it be done retrospectively as well?

In reply to felt:

You'd have to do it by photo categories though as climbing photos get 5 times more exposure (you could hide a nuclear bomb in the UKH weekly top 10).
In reply to James Rushforth:

The amount of votes on the UKC and UKH top 10 isn't that far off each other (baring the top spot)

Good to hear Paul. I was wondering whether it was something like that.

Perhaps you could set it so that only popular photos (eg. 4 or 5 star and/or no. of hits) stay at high res. There are many lesser quality images that could be reduced in size to save bandwidth. Or set it up somehow so most people only see the really good images and the dross ones are mostly ignored. 500px.com seems pretty good in this regard.
