The OutsideFest 2015 is a celebration of all things climbing and running, including free workshops with climbing professionals, climbing competitions, prize draws and free goody bags for the first 50 people to arrive.

Climbing Festival 10th & 11th October
Brands such as Petzl, La Sportiva, DMM, Wild Country, Scarpa, and Lapis will showcase the latest new gear while Steve McClure, Neil Gresham, Danie Rushmer and Mark Croxall, Ben Bransby and Dave Barrans will be on hand to run workshops and share their expertise on every aspect of climbing.

Workshops
• Belaying best practice – try out all the latest belay devices and learn how to use them safely.
• No edge? No problem! La Sportiva Footwear workshop with Neil Gresham (Saturday) and Mark Croxall (Sunday). This will be on the crag if the weather allows. Limited numbers of places – sign up on the day.
• Improvised self-rescue – learn the dark art of getting you and your partner out of difficult situations.
• How safe is your gear? Watch helmets get a seriously practical trial and see DMM pull apart your old karabiners and slings, and explain when and why gear should be replaced.

Competitions
• Wild Country Crack Machine – can you outlast the Wideboyz?
• Win a Lapis Rolly Bar or Rolly Balls – just hang on!
• Moon Campus Board – best performance wins Moon campus rungs.

La Sportiva Running Day – Sunday 11th October.
Sunday will also feature practical running workshops led by Centurion Running, getting you into the heart of the Peak with the professionals. There will be three distances to choose from: 10k, 10 miles and 20 miles.

These will be informal runs in small groups, aimed at evaluating running styles and trying out the gear. Every participant will be able to test new La Sportiva shoes, Ultimate Direction running vests, Garmin GPS watches and Leki running poles. We will also have one of the footbed experts from Superfeet on hand to give advice.

Centurion Running will be giving a primer talk on preparation and training for trail running and then James Elson, Paul Navesey and Drew Sheffield will be leading the runs.

For just £15 entry, runners will gain professional guidance and go home with a goody bag including a free pair of Smartwool socks and La Sportiva goodies worth at least £30.
