Big Walling: Welcome to the dark side of climbing - A lesson and a talk
THURSDAY 12 TH NOVEMBER AT THE QUAY CLIMBING WALL, EXETER
WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO PUT UP A PORTALEDGE, DOCK A HAUL BAG OR RIDE A PIG?
As part of The Quay’s Support Nepal activities, David Coley is offering to teach you the basics of big walling. Just put £5 in the Nepal Bucket. Teaching will start from 5pm, but you can join at any time and stay as long as like. Bring a harness a rope, some slings and lots of screwgates. If you have them, bring daisies, jummars and a grigri.
At 8pm David will be giving a presentation on some of the walls he’s climbed in Yosemite and other places. All welcome (you don’t need to have been to the lesson). Donations (for Nepal) welcomed.
Cold Mountain Kit have kindly donated various items to be auctioned on the night – so grab yourself a cheap mega chalk bucket or some clothes! And please bring along any used kit/books etc. you would like to donate.
There are no tickets for the event. Just show up. But please let me know you are coming via this Facebook Event:
