If you do, could you let me know a little about how they are in use and most importantly how robust they've been.

There's a review of the Synmat UL 7 here: http://www.ukhillwalking.com/gear/review.php?id=3728

I've been using it pretty steadily since 2011 and it's still going strong, so I'd say for their weight they are surprisingly durable if looked after moderately carefully.

And here's a review of the Downmat UL 7, which I've had for just over a year now: http://www.ukhillwalking.com/gear/review.php?id=6534

This one may be slightly less durable, or I might just have been unlucky. Either way, you do need to protect them from sharp stones.

It's not quite what you asked, but Dan brought up the Downmat UL 7. I have the Downmat 7 (not UL) so can't comment on durability, but I can say it's impressively warm, so worth considering the UL7 if that's important to you.

In reply to Dan Bailey - UKHillwalking.com:

Thanks very much Dan, I searched the forums but didn't think of looking at the Reviews. I've gone ahead and purchased on the basis of your review, but will not remind you of this if it all goes wrong.

Cheers, and more power to your elbow!

Tom
