Hello all,
I'm going to be in Uttoxeter thu night on my lonesome. Where should I go for a run? Is it possible to get into the peak reasonably easily via public transport? Or taxi even if not too dear.

Otherwise nice routes around the town would be appreciated.

10-20 miles, off road preferred. I'm doing it for the scenery really. New place, new sights and all that.

Any locals fancy offering an opinion or advice?

Dimmings Dale is a good shout, off road. 10 minute drive from Uttoxeter. Plenty of climbing up there too.
There's also an old railway which goes from Denstone, goes by Dimmings Dale, then you can continue to Oakamoor. Then head back down the railway. If you're trying to stay local that's probably the best idea.

Dovedale is a 20 minute drive, loads to go at there. Some really good footpaths which cover a good distance.

Hope this helps a little, the peak is a 40 minute drive if all else fails but there's quite a lot local too.

Hope you have a good fun.

Thanks, I have no car unfortunately so restricted to my own feet so it looks like local routes only
