I have an old Cyclops Berghaus rucksack and the buckle/clip that closes the lid has broken. It is the male part of the buckle and i dont want to have to un-sew all the lid of the sack to replace a complete buckle. Berghaus have sent me a replacement but it is a completely different design so i would have to replace both parts.

any idea where i can find 1990's spare parts from ?

You won't, short of someone being willing to cut one off their old pack for you.

These are pricey but avoid having to sew http://www.seatosummit.com.au/products/outdoor/field-repair-buckles/

What a great idea! Add some threadlock for a proper job.

Alpkit do an alloy buckle. They sell them in pairs for £2.50. They are perfect for repairing broken rucksack buckles. https://www.alpkit.com/products/pair-of-phud-buckles

Especially if it's a wide buckle you can cut the bar in the middle and work the strap into it. No need to fiddle about taping or glueing the cut - it'll just work and be OK. I did this on the waist strap of my Marmot Eiger sack (with some sceptisism) after being told it'd work by the very knowkedgeable Mark in my local climbing shop. It's subsequently been fine for years.

In reply to simonizzy: is it one of the odd Berghaus ones where you pinch together wide flat, edge and two flat plastic pieces overlap? Not well described but they were used on the 2 lid buckles of the Crusaders and Rocs and on the utility straps that came on outside of the crusader pockets. I have those in green.
