Hiya folks.

I'm looking at buying a first rope to use whilst learning to lead indoors and possibly for setting up bottom/top rope belays outdoors.

Being on a limited hobby budget since the birth of baby number one, I was attracted to the mammut zopa due to it's dirt cheapness.

Looks like mammut make this specifically for bergfreunde, could even be a loss-leader at that price.

My problem is that a lot of reviews for it seem to be in German.

Anyone laid hands on one and have an opinion on it for me?

Thanks in advance!

I haven't used this particular rope, but I've been very pleased with other Mammut ropes (Spark, Infinity, Eternity, Half dome...). My opinion: buy it. You can't go wrong with Mammut ropes and this one is a bargain.

Thanks Zebdi. I'm getting more tempted by the minute. It is a really good price.

Another thought...

Are there any potential problems using a skinnier rop to set up a bottom rope slingshot belay?

It's a good rope, I have no complaints on it. And especially for the price, it's great.
