Good evening everyone,

For a while now I've wanted to do a sort of loop-de-loop traverse (yeah, that's a thing...) that ticks off pretty much every peak in the magnificent Dartry Mountains in Sligo, Ireland, and a well-timed period of freakishly-good weather (for Atlantic Ireland, anyway) gave me the opportunity to have a go.

You can expect, as with all of the stories that I've shared here, a truly remarkable amount of whinging, far too many adverbs, frequent reference to my genitalia, and one or two pictures that, through a combination of beautiful subject material and sheer luck, aren't too ugly to stare at.

I'd also like to seize this moment to mention, for what could be the last time, that in a few days I'm running a long way in an effort to raise money for a hospice in Sligo, and I'm terribly sorry to be bringing the begging bowl around here, but time is running out and we are nearly at our target, so I would, frankly, be grateful beyond words for absolutely anything you might be able to spare for the cause. I totally understand if you don't, I couldn't even begin to count the number of charity requests that I've glossed over in the past, but I thought I'd put it out there anyway. Cheers chaps.

Thanks everyone. Have a smashing evening.
