Starting a two nights out round of the 4000 thousanders on Monday lunch time next week from punchbowl car park. Hoping to spend first night at Loch Etchechan. Has any body got recent knowledge of conditions at the moment. Will crampons be needed

June??? MMmmmmm? I think not - unless you intend walking at night in clear skies when some of the steep bits might be icy.

I wonder if Corrour Bothy would be a more logical overnight stop instead of the Hutchison Hut? Ran the 4000ers in mid May and the only unavoidable steep snow is the slope above Corrour at the col below the Devil's Point. Big bucket steps so we managed down ok in fell trainers in the soft snow but an ice axe might be an idea if you'll be on this slope early in the morning.
