So I was wondering on your take on vintage style boots like Meidl Super Perfect vs modern style La Sportivas Nepal and such.
Are the new one really better as overall performers?
I'm pretty sure someone will point out weight and gore-tex lining but from my 15+ year experience I've ended up with Hanwag Omega with leather lining for winter and Hanwag Yukon leather for summer.
The weight is not that significantly different - 50-100 grams, as far as I am concerned, is negligible.
I treat all my leather boots with some kind of wax so waterproofing is not really an issue.
