Hi,

Has anyone been along the AE the last day or so? Is it snow covered or easily passable? Looking to do some routes at the weekend in the Glencoe area with a scrambler confident in summer but little winter experience.

Cheers

I did the Aonach Eagach on Sunday. East facing stuff was still pretty snowy (mostly unconsolidated powder-slush, it ended up being easier to dig out handholds than to trust axes) but west facing bits were stripped of snow.

Hi, thanks for the responses last time... anyone got any recent updates with the new snow that's hit?

Cheers

In reply to Mike Stephens:

The new dump brought snowline on the north side down to about 350m, but sun's been making inroads over the past couple of days and it's retreated to more like 500m. Crest definitely still under real snow, however, and whether snow cover continues to thin or gets somewhat more reestablished in the short term is probably in the balance with continued cool temperatures and forecast precipitation.
