I enjoy doing coding challenges. I write in Python.

Project Euler - I am on this. It has a mathematical focus.

The Python Challenge - a bit too cryptic for me.

Codewars - have completed the python tasks, except for the Secret Knock (I find cryptic puzzles hard)

Does anyone have any alternatives they would recommend?

Depends on your interest. I teach basic scripting in Python to biologists and recommend Rosalind ( http://rosalind.info/problems/list-view/ ) to those wanting to improve their skills after the introductory course. The problems are all based on common problems in biology, but they are, for the most part, laid out formally so you should be able to work on them even if you don't understand the biology behind them. They start quite basic, but get harder.

Thanks. I have started.

code academy has or at least did have a python section on it too.

I have had a look, not much there for me. It is aimed at beginners, I am a bit beyond that. Thanks.
