I remember getting mine for about 40 quid a few years back. Now I'm looking to replace with the new one I noticed the new RRP is £80.

If a company updates a product is it fair to then charge (this much) more for the new one?

It's supposedly new technologies used (frame was changed?) and other marketing stuff. I hate everything about the old Hirundos but the weight/size. I guess Hirundos was quite popular due to its cheapness and lightness.

On the other hand, Decathlon and Bergfreunde.co.uk are already selling them for 65 pounds. It might drop a wee bit later on.

impressed that they've lost that much straight away. The big brands seem to be pricing in discounts these days.

I rarely buy gear priced as RRP - some things are just far too expensive for that. Like climbing trousers for 50+ pounds which you'll rub against the rock?!

Buy a £50 pair of climbing shorts. Sorted

How about £65?

I'm pretty excited about it, actually. Seems like a significant improvement and my old Arc'teryx is at least 15 years old.
