Try the woolwich, halifax or skipton. They're all geat with freelancers. I got an l&c motgage advisor to talk to the underwriters at skipton and managed to get a mortgage with only six months of books and an outline of my last five years employment history.

I wish I could get a mortgage for this, as a geologist I love the location but as I live down south it would be a holiday home (or as a geologist should I say second home, the birth place of the UK is in and around Skye) and being self employed they do not like the idea of lending money to someone who is hard working and earning more then enough..... i need to be on the lottery win to be self employed and have a mortgage! gggrrrrr.

still cannot believe this has not sold it is lovely!!
