Hi

Heading up to Scotland this weekend with a couple of mates. I am a reasonably experience winter climber but they aren't, although have done mountain marathons etc, so was thinking of doing some reasonably adventurous walking routes - e.g ring of Steall, Bidean via Stob Coire nan Lochan (and broad gully) or one of the grade I gullies on the Ben. Looking at the weather and avalanche forecasts these all seem to be out at the moment, so trying to think of other interesting options. I would normally just wait until a weekend with better conditions, but we are very short on weekends when we are all free this winter, so its now or next year! Any ideas??

Some possible options for you, assuming the weather isn't too dire:

N ridge of Stob Ban (can link with Devil's Ridge for a longer day)
ENE ridge of Sgurr Bhan (Beinn a' Bheithir)
Sron na Creise
E ridge of Beinn a' Chaorainn
Zig-zags on Gearr Aonach (can continue to SCNL)

Mamores? Plenty of options for bold or meek routes.
