Like most places in highlands there are some superb conditions & unusual ice but made that much harder by too much snow. Cuillin avalanches are pretty rare with snow falling so wet generally and the thaws predicted Fri & Sun should settle anything loose left. Best place for keeping up to date over the coming 2 weeks is the Skye Winter Festival FB page- https://www.facebook.com/skyewinterfestival?ref=hl and the usual Blog page- http://skyeguides.co.uk/blog/

Mr Beads has been most active with first ascents of Je Suis Charlet, Paramo Sapiens & Banner Diction. Steve Perry & Michael Barnard did first ascent of Hidden Gully @ V,6 last Saturday and repeated Branching Gully the following day. Escape from Colditz and Mike the Bhasteird both gave me good climbing but still a bit sketchy & run out.

In reply to Mike Lates:

We climbed Mike...... the day after you. Not too hard but very little gear in those conditions.

Do you have descriptions for Je Suis Charlet and Banner Diction? The photo of Banner Diction on the Skye Winter Festival page makes it look very good!
