Retail Manager – Ice Factor, National Ice Climbing Centre, Kinlochleven, Lochaber.

After refurbishment and creation of new online shop, the Ice Factor Group is seeking applicants for the post of Retail Manager, based at the iconic Ice Factor, Kinlochleven, Glencoe, Scotland.

Sitting in the heart of the Outdoor Capital of the UK, Ice Factor plays a key role in the Lochaber economy by attracting over 130,000 annual visitors.
The customer base is incredibly varied, ranging from family visitors seeking basic camping items through to guides, instructors and mountain rescue teams.
You should be an outdoor enthusiast with detailed knowledge of products and brands allied with a strong network of established relationships within the sector.
Your passion for retail should be self evident from your experience. You will be familiar with operating in a strong KPI and sales environment and thrive operating in an autonomous role. You will be expected to contribute to buying decisions, presentation and daily management of the physical and online stores.

The role will appeal to existing retail managers working within chains looking for a more autonomous role with the ability to influence decision making, or existing retail supervisors looking to step into a management role.

Full Time Instructor – Ice Factor, Kinlochleven, Glencoe.

In its 14 year history Ice Factor has become a landmark destination for climbers and mountaineers of all abilities. From our base in the Outdoor Capital of the UK, we’ve seen a number of our former colleagues progress through the MLTB/AMI and Guides Schemes.

In 2011 as part of our continued growth we acquired the £32m indoor snow slope at Braehead, Glasgow. We have rebadged our sister site to Snow Factor and now employ over 200 people within the Ice Factor Group. We are now seeking applicants for full time instructor posts at Ice Factor Kinlochleven.

You must possess SPA training and have a strong long book of winter climbing and mountaineering. Preference will be given to candidates who have CWA and a proven knowledge of climbing wall operations. Advancement through the National Governing Body Awards is supported by the company.

Part Time Ice Wall Instructors - Snow Factor Glasgow

Owing to continued demand, The Ice Factor Group is seeking applicants for part time instructor vacancies at its ice wall in Snow Factor, Braehead, Glasgow.
Preference is for SPA qualified candidates with ML (W) Training / Assessment. CWA with a winter climbing pedigree will be considered.

The role requires high degrees of wall supervision, floor walking, equipment checking and ice wall maintenance. You will be highly enthusiastic, with a good instructor ‘tool kit’ able to instruct a wide variety of clients from entry level through to intermediate user.

Steep ice training will be provided at Ice Factor Kinlochleven during your induction period and you need to allow for a period of training in Lochaber.
Your ambitions in the industry will be supported by our sister company; Ice Factor, the National Ice Climbing Centre and Regional Centre of Excellence for the Mountaineering Council. We take enormous pride in the number of former team members who have advanced through the MLTB/AMI and Guide’s Scheme.
All vacancies are initially for – evenings and weekends starting at a 12 hour basic shift pattern. Opportunities for enhanced employment and full time are awarded on merit and performance.

Full Time and Part Time Administrator / Receptionist – Ice Factor Kinlochleven

Ice Factor Kinlochleven is seeking to recruit experienced administration and reception staff.
Ideally you will have a passion for the outdoors and a strong track record in reception duties (from hotel or similar environment). Core tasks include bookings (online, telephone and face to face), processing of member records on the database, invoices, daily cash handling and preparation of reconciliation files for the company finance team. Accuracy and a keen eye for detail are critical.

Ice Factor has a fantastic track record in customer service, and you will be expected to demonstrate the utmost professionalism when dealing with clients at the busy reception. Training will be provided between Snow Factor in Glasgow and Ice Factor Kinlochleven which may require off site training.
