Hello all,

My friend was seriously injured and airlifted from an avalanche in/near Fiacaill Couloir in Coire an t'Sneachda, (Northern Cairngorms) yesterday. He is in hospital and will be fine, but lost a lot of kit in the avalanche - most problematically his rucksack with car keys in it, given he and his girlfriend are up from Wales.

If anyone is in the area and finds a RED BERGHAUS ARETE RUCKSACK, a pair of ORANGE BLACK DIAMOND VIPERS (Ice Axes) or a SINGLE CRAMPON please can you contact me on this thread as a matter of urgency, (or on: zero seven nine seven nine nine four one three three three)?

Thank-you very much!

Bump to keep this near the top. Good luck retrieving your kit, and speedy recovery to your mate.

Good luck in getting your gear back, no such thing as crag-swag in these circumstances.

I see it's being covered by other organisations. Quality!

Though I might be biased having also lost gear after a rescue, I personally think "crag-swag" is a bit of an old fashioned idea, when a) gear is bloody expensive and b) we have resources like UKC and social media making it almost trivial to find the original owners.

Hope you get your gear back and the injured party makes a swift recovery.

Andrew.

The area concerned will now be really loaded with windslab, so be careful approaching these slopes until it settles down.

Very wise words!

How's your friend getting on? I hope he's on the road to recovery.

Did you get your gear back ok?
In reply to Tony the Blade:

He's on the road to recovery and back home in Wales now which is good! But the gear still hasn't turned up sadly...maybe when it all melts.
