Hi
Looking to go ice climbing late January, Norway looks very bad this season, the plan was to go to Setesdal. Even Cogne looks warm as well (plus I have been there plenty of times with everyone else)
Kandersteg looks to have long spells of cold weather, and have a nice cold weather forcast. Ayone knows the conditions there??

This is currently showing hardly anything in condition

I think the only area showing green is the dry-tooling crag

Hi! Anyone got a first hand knowledge of current conditions in Kandersteg? The alpine-center traffic lights are turning green nicely.
Heading there in the coming weekend.

Tyrol is dry. Worst season for years. I am a firm believer in this theory. If its raining in mainland Europe its dry in the UK (vice versa). If its good winter climbing conditions in the UK then its bad in mainland Europe and (vice versa).

I have stayed at the international scout hut a couple of times.

I am certainly not a scout. It is reasonably priced and a good location. I would be keen to know of other options though in the area.

Thanks. Didn't make it through in the end but good to know for the future.
