Advice on winter alpine climbing

Hello,

Last year me and a friend did some ice climbing in Cogne and had a great time. We're heading back this year but were thinking of maybe doing some alpine routes around that area. I don't have any experience of winter alpine climbing so if anyone could offer some advice or point me in the direction of a few routes that would be great. We are heading out over New Year.

Thanks,

David

In reply to David Kirsfelds: Would be good to go on a alpine introduction course, o hire a guide between you to get an idea of climbing in alpine terrain.

Can you ski?
In reply to David Kirsfelds:

Have you climbed in the alps during the summer season, that would be my starting point?

In gets very cold, so pack an extra pair of socks

Be prepared to suffer, even if staying in huts. Ski in and out. Be very cautious about everything you do.

Apart from that it's fun.
