Yes, liked it; the self-deprecation goes a long way. Do people not still put their matches in plastic film containers, with a bit of sandpaper glued under the lid? And base camp booties, which Blacks are perennially selling off cheaply, keep the draughts out better.

Good post, though maybe instead of all those matches take a firesteel? That would work even if it had been sitting in Lyn Peris all afternoon

Thanks for the suggestions. Firesteel probably would be a good idea. Although I looked them up and at £9 that's a lot of matches for your money.

The bothy booties look good too although maybe not as good for river crossings.
