What's the difference between these two?

Is the SMC more club / climbing focused while the MCoS is more policy / campaign oriented?

SMC is a club, MCoS is a federation of all/most clubs in Scotland (the Scottish version of the BMC). Both have websites if you want to know more

It's the same as the difference between the Climber's Club (for instance) and the BMC. Just as you say: SMC is a club, MCofS is governing body type thing.
