Maps for alps

hi Guys n gals,
wanting to go the the alps this summer n do some big hills, scrambles n generally have fun. but cant seem to find any maps like the OS maps in the uk. anyone able to help?? what am I looking for??

For France, 1:25 000 maps from IGN (the French OS) - where have you looked as they are easily availble in Franch & in some places in the UK (Needle Sports, Stamfords, etc). Similar maps for Switzerland & Italy from the same shops

Amazon has a good range of the IGN maps from what I've seen (If you can't find somewhere to buy them from who actually pays tax).

The DAV ones for Austria and Germany are good. Kompass for Italy are not so good.

Kompass are generally not really good. I much prefer the DAV ones or the local equivalent of OS, e.g. Landesvermessungsamt Bayern in Germany.
