Google Earth and Maps misbehaving

When I use Google Earth or Maps and try to "click to drag" I notice that, instead of allowing me to drag, the "zoom in" starts. It's very infuriating. Anyone know what's happening?

You have a tricky time with IT don't you.

I think more detail would help, usual stuff, OS, platform etc.
