I have managed to upload, in five parts, a documentary made in 1984 called "An element of regret". It is about Strath Farrar and Loch Monar and the changes in landscape and people in the area. It shows very well some of the feelings of people who work in the hills or relate to them but are not climbers or mountaineers as we know them.

Iain R Thompson, author of Isolation Shepherd, speak in the film about his thoughts on the area. His book, I think, is the best written about the Scottish Mountains.

You can find it here: http://domhnallmorris.blogspot.com/ It's 47 minutes long.

For anyone interested in some of the debates about land in the Highlands this is very interesting viewing.

No problem, I was myself extremely pleased to get the DVD from someone I know. Personally, I really love the Loch Monar area. We kayaked to the west end about 8 years ago to climb a VS there but it pissed down!

In reply to Donald M: Thanks for the link. I read the book a few years back now and loved it. I'll try and check out the documentary tomorrow if I get chance.
