Born Sheffield 1964, climbed seriously at Uni up to E5 6a/b, Scottish winter V & ED Alps, thought about becoming guide but decided I'd get bored and got serious job. Then toe injury stopped climbing. For 20 years worked in consulting, since age 33 cycled seriously. Sick of consulting by 2005 and decided to change. Started climbing again 2006 aged 42. We founded and ran The Lemon House guesthouse for climbers, mountain bikers, walkers, road cyclists and kayakers on the east coast of Sardinia from 2006 to 2016, before selling the business and moving back to Rome.
