Sherpa Lakpa Rita Jacket 3 © Sherpa
Named for Lakpa Rita Sherpa, the “Best Sardar in the Khumbu” and our chief mentor and gear tester. A legend in his own time, Lakpa Rita was the first Sherpa to climb the highest peaks on all seven continents. He also happens to be our toughest critic and gear tester. This jacket is named in honor of him, and it’s our best waterproof/breathable hard shell – period.

Made of the finest materials available, it features design and construction details specific to serious alpine pursuits. Two eVent® waterproof fabrics – strategically placed nylon ripstop and nylon taffeta – feature Direct Venting™ technology: water stays out while perspiration vapor escapes through microscopic nano-vents.

  • Main fabric is an eVent® waterproof/air permeable laminate made of 40d x 40d with a 70d ripstop

  • 100% ripstop nylon treated with DWR (durable water repellent) finish; it gets a 20,000mm/30,000 mvtr waterproof/breathable rating

  • Helmet-compatible hood has a single adjustment at the back to snug the fit when needed; the stiffened brim can be shaped to deflect inclement weather

  • Seams are placed away from shoulder tops and hips to avoid chafing under pack straps, pack belt, or harness

  • Large, zippered hand pockets are placed high so as not to interfere with a harness or pack belt; when opened, they can be used to ventilate the core Sculpted, anatomically-patterned arm construction is designed for maximum comfort and mobility

  • Hem adjustors are designed to prevent elastic cord from catching on harness or straps

  • Two exterior chest pockets provide instant access to essentials

There seems to be conflicting information on the Sherpa website. The video is wrong I believe...

Lol, well I guess if the guy in the video says he's done it 19 times then by definition he's not done it 20 times, and he's definitely done it 17 times! That's the logic I'm using at any rate! :-D
