I sometimes worry that climbing is too close to trainspotting with it's endless compilation of lists and numbers - but that doesn't seem to have stopped me from doing it for the past 30 years or so. My most inspiring places to climb have generally been in North America, Scotland and France. I climb a lot around local venues like Avon and Cheddar and am always open to teaming up with new people. I'm deeply sceptical of all grading systems. I teach film-making at the University of Bristol (and occasionally make or work on films too).
