The below text is from the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust information board:
"Brockadale Nature Reserve (SSSI site of special scientific interest) is really fragile and so protected for its wildlife – from rare snails and plants to precious birds of prey.
This crag is home to numerous important species, many of which are not easily noticed.
We are now at the most sensitive time of year, birds are nesting, plants are establishing growth and most animals are looking for security to breed.
Climbing on this rock face damages this life.
Please help us look after this vulnerable and beautiful place by not climbing."
