A narrow, shaded canyon a stones throw from the shores of the Mediterranean and the picturesque Kaputas Beach. Not a world class venue but certainly worth a visit or two if in the area, with some excellent routes up to 6c.
The canyon remains in the shade for most of the day, with a small window of sun to follow round the various faces depending on the time of year. Whilst it can be a good place to escape the heat, be warned - the canyon acts as a funnel and even a gentle breeze can feel quite intense depending on where you are situated!
In the wet season and early spring the warterfall and stream reportedly prevents access to routes on the right from 'Naturablue' onwards (Early April 2023 the riverbed was bone dry).
* There are additional bolted lines between 'Wing Over' and 'Do La' which don't appear in the Antalya (2018) guide.
** This is a seacliff - please inspect bolts and lower offs for signs of corrosion.
*** Wear a helmet whilst in the canyon. Particularly on windy and blustery days as stones and other debris are frequently blown down.
The nearest major town is Kas. From here, drive westwards toward Kalkan along the D400 for 19km. Look out for signs for 'Kaputas Magarasi', with Kapautas Beach clearly visivble below. Park off the road here, walk down the stairs, turn right and follow the path to the canyon negotiating a small concrete wall (5-10mins). Routes are listed from left to right looking into the canyon, with 'Wing Over' the first route on the left wall (caution with additional routes - see above).
