Delightfully situated crag, overlooking a lake. This is a steep little 15m sport crag formed of excellent gneiss about 150m from the road. Grades range from N4+ to N7 with most routes in the N5- to N6 range. The crag is characterised by many good horizontal breaks. Bolting isn't overgenerous and the first bolts are often high so the cautious might wish to take a few small to medium cams.
Don't be put off by lack of stars - the guidebook is very reserved in this respect.
Carpark on the east side of the 561 road about 1km north of the turning to Landro church. Walk north 150m to a sign (picture of a quickdraw) pointing west. Take the path 150m to the top of the crag. Descent starts with some natural steps and is then a fixed rope protected scramble.
Routes are hard from the beginning, a stick clip is a good idea if you are a beginner. roessland - 21/May/17 |
