Faces SE
A really large face above the road to Champagny le Haut.
The face is split by a large grassy ledge (the 'Grand Vire') which is taken by a via ferrata. A couple of four pitch routes aproach the ledge whilst the rest are single pitch
The Via Ferrata du Plan du Bouc has two different routes; either traversing the Grand Vire from right to left and finishing up the arete or taking the arête direct. It is possible to go up the arête and down the grand vire, although you might not be too popular on holiday weekends though!
Drive up from Champagny towards Champagny le Haut. After passing the 'nteresting sections of the road before entering the upper valley a large lake is seen on the right. Ample parking at the end of the lake. The crag and via ferrata is obvious above.
Descent from the via ferrata is along a well marked path towards Champagny le Haut. After about 30 minutes a track descends steeply back towrds the parking area.
