Climbs 50
Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 851m a.s.l
Faces all
A tall and imposing cliff that gets morning sun and afternoon shade. It only has a small set of routes, but a couple of these are real crackers that see very little action. A rack of gear will be required.
Park on the lowest bend on the one-way-system beyond the Miroir du Fou (this is 1.5km before the Chalet de Malines) and head down the open slopes (vague tracks) to a conspicuous solitary tree. From the solitary tree, continue down for 30m until a cairn marks a crossroads. From here, head left (looking out) in the direction of road tunnels on the opposite bank of the Verdon, until finally trending back right to reach a large cairn and the abseil anchors of Les Caquous.
Descent - Either abseil down Les Caquous (50m rope minimum and knot the ends!) or on foot by skirting the left-hand side of the cliff (looking out).
