Cove Quarry consists of 'Culm' shales and rippled sandstones. The routes are unlikely to have had recent action and the condition of the fixed gear is deteriorating. Hand-placed knifeblades can be usefully employed on Sapling Slab to break up the run-outs between good stainless 10mm bolts. Take care not to stand beneath unstable rock left of the main slab as rockfall is a frequent event.
Four miles north of Tiverton on the A396, above the village of Cove. Turn left at the village, follow the narrow lane up the valley side and bear rightwards at a T-junction. The lane then opens out onto a tree-lined ridge, the right-hand (south) side of which is the crest area of the quarry.
Private Land belonging to Holmingham Farm. The owners' disposition to climbing on his land is unknown.
