A beautifully situated bouldering area with a variety of walls of perfect rock high on the left, and an interesting boulder field below. A great place to spend time on a good day
Take tape, take gauze maybe and a full medical kit as the rock is rough. Really rough. Like climbing barnacles. Grades.....well as with most places in the lakes take the grades with a massive pinch of salt and prepare to have your ego battered. Even the VB and V0 climbs can leave you a gibbering wreck. If you want to try the likes of central line and Eiger aspirant then ideally you'd want a few Mats and spotters to feel totally comfortable.
It truly is a gorgeous location though. Tranquil and with a fantastic outlook. Expect to be accompanied by ravens and buzzards and even the odd red kite.
The rock here is so horribly sharp. Do not go here on a misty day without a compass as it is very easy to get lost. tomfrankenburg - 09/Apr/17 |
