An enjoyable, healthy and strenuous day out. A winter wonderland protected from all but the coldest westerly winds. It's an extensive sport crag with steep, well protected routes, interesting slabs and a great range of moderate to hard projects, all in a wilderness setting. It's generally protected from the rain but you can expect to get wet walking in or out. Discovered in the 1980's but deemed too much hard work while Centennial Glen and Upper Shipley were under development, it was rediscovered in the late 1990's and development continued into the early part of this century (most of it was done before the fire trail road was closed). Remember it's a National Park so the usual rules apply.
12km from Bell, park just after a green gate. 40 min walk in. Or head down the track and park at the end, A 4x4 is highly recommended as the road is very bad and steep in places. You have been warned!
